Christmas shoebox appeal
With only 5 weeks to go until our Shoebox deadline (Ideally 7th December) please start sending boxes through as soon as you can.
We aim to distribute 2,000 boxes to schools and villages, therefore are hopeful that even if you have not been in touch you are actively making up a few boxes for us.
As the team will be visiting mainly schools, the age range is from 3 years to 18 years (at the moment its 53% boys and 47% girls, therefore please make up even numbers if at all possible). We will also look to deliver some food parcels to the elderly, therefore these are welcome too.
Volunteer Kim has been busy with her Nana, Robina (pictures above), putting boxes together. It is the second year that Robina has been gathering items and making up shoeboxes, having been inspired by Kim who has volunteered for 2 years with TEECH.
Thank you in advance to all those who take the time to do boxes for the charity.
Additional Requests
We have also had requests for other items, from those we are visiting at Christmas, therefore if you can obtain any other the following then please let us know:
Please see our poster for more information and to spread the word. Get in touch if you are using a BT stores depot to send boxes to us and we can provide the transport label. Plan ahead because it can take a week for boxes to come through the system to us in Essex.

psychiatric hospital - Balti, moldova
Work continues at the Psychiatric hospital in Balti, Moldova, with the shower room nearing completion.
Work started in November on creating a small room for the staff, including a sink and toilet, followed by installing the washing machine donated by Swedish volunteers. Pictures of the project can be viewed here and are generally updated every few weeks. |
clothing wanted
Throughout the year we collect good quality clothing for men, women and children. If you are able to gather clothing together then please send it through to us (ideally from January after we have cleared our stores at Christmas) and if possible in banana boxes! These are one of the best ways for us to pack because the boxes are then all of even size for when we load the lorries. At the moment we have run out of boxes, therefore keep your eyes out for good sources of boxes. Thanks
