august 2022 NEWSLETTER
August brings the annual bathroom project trip to the Republic of Moldova for a team of TEECH volunteers.
The team leaves on Thursday 11th August to make the journey across Europe, taking 2 lorries, to transport the bathroom supplies, which includes toilet cubicle partitions, plumbing supplies (internal and external waste pipework etc), sanitary ware, electrical supplies and lighting, timber for construction of an internal partition wall. The septic tanks this time have been purchased in Moldova to save space on the lorries for aid.
Humanitarian aid in the form of clothing, bedding, bikes, toys, toiletries and food are also being taken and will be mainly distributed in the 2 villages TEECH are supporting and working in this summer, Cotiujenii Mici and Marinesti, in the Sîngerei District. The aid will therefore support Moldovans and Ukrainians who may be staying with families in the village.
Work has started at the two schools. In Marinesti the floor is being laid (picture below) and in Cotiujenii Mici a second doorway has been installed, with door, ready for TEECH to create the partition wall down the middle, to create bathrooms for the boys and girls.
Thank you goes to:
As we all know, fuel prices are very high, therefore TEECH continue to fundraise to help cover the costs. If you would like to make a small donation, then this can be done through Peoples Fundraising, by clicking on the heart donate button below.
