JUNE 2021 newsletter
News this month is in the form of a new vehicle. TEECH, have purchased an Ambulance which will be taken over to Moldova in August, for delivery to Causeni district hospital. A request came through for help and support from the region, following the charity completing a project in 2019 and subsequently visiting on a couple of Christmas trips. The ambulance was purchased from another charity in England and has now been cleaned and prepared ready.
project 2021
As regular readers will know, the charity is preparing for a trip in August, with a project lined up in the village of Slobozia-Sirauti. All pre-planning work has now been completed, sanitary ware purchased, hand driers ready, along with the toilet cubicles. The school is ready to undertake the preparation during July but are waiting on the final decision from TEECH as to whether a team can actually travel.
As we all know from news reports, travelling abroad and through Europe is not going to be straight forward this summer, therefore we are waiting until the end of June before the final ‘go’ decision is made. Volunteers who have signed up for the trip have been contacted with further information and we encourage you to reply.
In the meantime, we are putting a shout out to all those who would like to contribute to the trip. Even if a larger team are unable to travel, then a small team taking the Ambulance, the TEECH lorry and the TEECH Van will travel, therefore we are fundraising for the transport costs of those vehicles on Golden Giving:

We also have an update on the coronavirus status in Moldova, from 3rd June to share:
The COVID-19 situation is continuing its downwards trend. On average, authorities register under 50 newly confirmed cases per day, with around 50% being registered in Transnistria. For the last couple of days, in Chisinau and Balti (biggest cities), less than 10 people have been confirmed positive.
More and more hospitals are closing their COVID-19 therapy units because the number of patients has dramatically decreased. Currently, there are 316 people in hospitals. Due to the mild symptoms, 1,009 people are undergoing treatment at home and 13,821 are being monitored by family doctors.
The vaccination campaign is going well. More than 460,000 people have been vaccinated (360.000 with the first shot and 100.000 with two shots).
