Aid trip to moldova, for ukraine support march 2022
On the 24th March 2022 a team set off for Moldova, to deliver 7 lorry loads of humanitarian aid, along with 3 vans. The team were delivering to locations within Moldova, so that the aid could then be distribution to refugee camps. Please see our March News page for more details on who has supported TEECH and UK-Aid to make the trip happen.
Over the journey to Moldova, one lorry broke down and another encountered issues. Both made it to Moldova (one with a 3 day delay due to repairs). Thanks goes to DAF Aid for coming to the teams rescue, picking up and transporting the lorry in Hungary to a garage and arranging for repair.
Once the team arrived and cleared the vehicles from customs, deliveries were made over a 3 day period. The map at the bottom of this page shows the locations, which were:
Singerei refugee camp - where the Philip Liverton Artic Unit/TIP Trailer were unloaded
Gradinita village - where Willian Norman & Son / Balin Trailer were unloaded
Causeni - where RoadTrain and the UK-Aid van were unloaded
Balti - where Middlegate were unloaded, with aid from the Yorkshire to Ukraine group, plus the TEECH Van + Trailer.
Nisporeni - where AC Transport and the van from ACT Foundation
Calaraseuca - where Robertson Marshall Haulage was unloaded
All lorries were loaded with aid donated and the vehicles loaned for the delivery. TEECH would like to thank all involved to make the trip happen, from the start of donations right through to the deliveries.
The selection of photos below, shows the many deliveries made. Some items are at warehouses, ready for distribution at refugee camps and/or other places where Ukrainian refugees are being housed. TEECH and UK-Aid jointly allocated funds to purchase a van in Moldova, which will now be used on a daily basis to continue the distribution and other tasks required, as part of the wider effort to support the ongoing crisis.
