CARPENENI, MOLDOVA

TEECH visited an orphanage in a small village called Carpeneni (west of the capital Chisinau), so see the children and provide them with presents. Some of the younger boys were very cheeky and enjoyed our visit as they got to muck about with us for a short while. In the pictures you can see the massive boiler they use to heat the buildings. In the winter they move all the children into one building for sleeping so that just that building needs to be heated to save on coal. In the last couple of pictures you can see the small beds the under 6 year old children use.
