Christmas shoebox appeal
With Christmas fast approaching it’s never too early to make up a shoebox or two for the TEECH Appeal. Volunteers have already started making up boxes and we have the list of children in the schools which the team will be visiting in December/January. The ages of the children mainly range from 3-15 years and the split is currently 52% boys and 48% girls, therefore please complete a mixture if possible.
Please get in touch if you are doing boxes with a group and can gauge numbers, so we know how many we might expect to receive and to find out how to send the boxes through to the charity (if you have not done so in the past).
Please ensure your boxes reach us by the end of November at the latest. As each box arrives it will be allocated to a school. Boxes were being made up by Carol (above) at our packing day on Saturday, with over 100 already completed.
All donations can be made through Wonderful. The charity asks for £1 per box to help with the cost of transportation.

Following the August trip and preparing for the Christmas trip, TEECH have been asked for toys for children with Autism. If you would like to donate any suitable toys (for ages 3-7 years), or make a cash donation for TEECH to purchase some, then this would be welcomed.
The charity has also had a request for new batteries for an electric wheelchair. A wheelchair was donated a couple of years ago to a gentleman in Romania, so he can get about independently, as he has no legs. The batteries now require replacement, or a suitable replacement wheelchair, therefore please spread the word and ask anyone who might be able to help to get in touch.

bt support to teech
As supporters you will be aware that BT has been supporting TEECH since the charity began in 1997 but unfortunately the relationship and support from BT is coming to an end in 2020. After discussions with the company, their policies do not allow for support to a small independent charity or for the loan of assets to charities, therefore use of their lorries to transport aid to Moldova will cease. A transition period is in place and the Christmas trip will remain supported but that will be the last trip of their involvement. In 2020 TEECH will be reviewing how the summer project trips can continue and finding new arrangements, to ensure the charity continues to thrive and carry out the work by volunteers each summer. All fundraising will be crucial to this effort because the BT support was not only for the loan of lorries but also the funding of fuel and road tolls.
