october annual apple pick
Firstly this month, many thanks goes to the team of volunteers who gave up their weekend to come along to Wisbech, Cambridgeshire to pick apples, raising funds for TEECH. It would not be possible without the generosity of Fred & Sue of William Norman & Sons, allowing the team to rock up and pick their apples, which will then go off for pressing to make juice, all in the local area. The team did a sterling job and raised £700 and can voucher for the lovely flavour of the apples and the juice.
A few pics can be seen on this page, showing the carry baskets which each person wears. These baskets seem to get heavier and heavier as the day goes on, and the scratches on the arms increase, as we all dive into the trees to pick a full bounty, but luckily the sun was shining.

christmas 2022 shoebox appeal
TEECH are now ramping up plans for a trip to Moldova in December/January, to hand deliver shoebox presents, as teams have done for many years now.
The villages of Cotiujenii Mici and Marinesti, where the charity completed bathroom projects in the summer will be visited, amongst other locations. Shoebox gifts for the children at the schools, means that boxes for boys and girls are required, with ages ranging from 4 years to 16 years.
If you would like to make up a few boxes, then please get in touch, so we can track how many might be coming our way, and also so we can get a good mix of boys/girls and the ages needed. Head down to the local shops and see if you can gather some empty shoeboxes, a lot of shops will give them away if asked.
The gift boxes can include (amongst other things) hats, gloves, scarves, hygiene products but ultimately toys and some sweets will be what lights up their faces when they first open the box.
TEECH are raising funds for the trip, to ensure we can cover the cost of fuel to transport boxes. If you are able to donate, then please use Wonderful to make a donation. The fundraising platform does not charge fees, therefore all monies donated are passed straight through to the charity. To enable them to do this, Wonderful links through to online banking, so it might not suit you all.
Alternatively, we will also leave the Peoples Fundraising page open for the rest of 2022 which takes card donations.

fundraiser - get in touch to buy a ticket
On 22nd October, Mayflower Billericay Rotary Club are holding a fundraiser in aid of TEECH. The evening will involve a raffle, casino table, singer and buffet.
