november 2022 NEWS
christmas 2022 shoebox appeal
Shoeboxes have now started to arrive which is excellent news. It allows volunteers to sort boxes into each schools location, where they will be hand delivered to in Moldova.
There are two further sorting days planned, on Saturday 19th November and Saturday 3rd December, therefore please do deliver boxes to us before either of those dates (or bring along on the day). The ages of the children range from 5 years to 16 years, therefore please let us know what boxes you will be doing, so we know if we have any age gaps or gender gaps to advise others of. The earlier we receive boxes, the better we can then inform others of what ages we might need 😊 Thank you to Amelia (pictured) for the 10 shoebox gifts she completed with her mum and delivered to us on Saturday 29th. Thanks also goes to the Gel & Alan and fellow Howard Vyse Court Residents (below) for their many food parcel donations, plus many other items all year around. |
Amongst other villages, Cotiujenii Mici and Marinesti, where the charity completed bathroom projects in the summer will be visited.
If you would like to make up a few boxes, then please get in touch, so we can track how many might be coming our way. Head down to the local shops and see if you can gather some empty shoeboxes, a lot of shops will give them away if asked.
The gift shoeboxes can include (amongst other things) hats, gloves, scarves, hygiene products but ultimately toys and some sweets will be what lights up their faces when they first open the box.
TEECH are raising funds for the trip, to ensure we can cover the cost of fuel to transport boxes. If you are able to donate, then please use Wonderful to make a donation. The fundraising platform does not charge fees, therefore all monies donated are passed straight through to the charity. To enable them to do this, Wonderful links through to online banking, so it might not suit you all.
Alternatively, we will also leave the Peoples Fundraising page open for the rest of 2022 which takes card donations.

success at fundraiser
As mentioned in last months news, on 22nd October, Mayflower Billericay Rotary Club held a fundraiser in aid of TEECH. A fablous £1,200 was raised. Huge thanks to Barry & Jan Howe for organising the event and the many TEECH volunteers who came along.

Thank you in advance.
coming soon...............
TEECH are partnering with two other charities, UK-Aid Felstead and Harwich Cultural & Community Projects with a charity shop in Harwich, Essex. The set up and running of the shop is being led by Harwich CCP, with TEECH and UK-Aid helping to provide the stock. It is hoped the shop will be open in November, therefore if you have any good quality clothing (or other items) which you think could be sold to help raise funds for the charities, then please get in touch or drop your items directly to the shop. More news to come as the venture takes off.
