march 2022 continuous news
teech will be supporting ukranians in moldova
W/C 21st March
Everyone has worked exceptionally hard over the last few weeks, sorting aid, boxing aid, loading 6 lorries and the vans. The logistics and planning has been a challenge but the team are pretty much ready to leave on Thursday 24th. Departure is at 5am on the 24th, to travel to Harwich, Essex to catch the Stenaline ferry over to the Hook of Holland. The team will then start thir drive across the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Hungary and into Romania for a hotel stop and rest. Arrival in Moldova will be on Sunday 27th.
Over the next few weeks we hope to get photos onto the website, of their trip, journey and delivery into Moldova.
Whilst the team are away we are pausing the collection of donations and will communicate again in April what aid is required for a future trip.
Whilst in Moldova the team will visit at least 2 locations to deliver the aid and understand further the need, as it develops over the coming weeks, so the aid requests might change.

Week 1 - news from w/c 28th Feb
TEECH are currently in discussion with local contacts in Moldova, to gain an understanding of the impact displaced Ukrainians arriving into Moldova is having, the set up which the Moldovans are working on, and what aid they require to support those travelling over the border. Once the understanding is obtained and then built up, TEECH, along with two other UK based charities will look to transport aid over to Moldova to help.
Initial thoughts on aid requirements, are clothing (mainly women and children), food and then household items, like blankets, sleeping bags, bedding and toiletries (including washing powder and nappies). Once we know more we will add more detail to this page. Please remember, that any clothing donated must be in good condition.
TEECH has set up a fundraising page, with a target of £5,000 (subsequently increased to £10k as mentioned below). The funding would be used to pay for an articulated lorry of aid to be taken over to Moldova. The charities own 18 tonne lorry will also be filled with aid, by the charity UK-Aid (Felstead), and funded by their supporters. The working assumption at the moment is to leave the UK by the end of March.
