February 2014 newsletter
This month we would like to tell you about our 2014 project and invite anyone interested in volunteering to get in touch.
In August we will be returning to Moldova, to a small village called Balanesti, to provide the children at the school with toilets, showers, sinks, urinals and hot and cold running water. The team of volunteers will also need to install a septic tank, paint and tile walls and much more as this is a big project!
The school currently has the standard outside long drop toilets, and no indoor facilities at all. When we visited in the winter it was not as cold as usual but very foggy and going to the toilet outside was not very pleasant, and we then remember the children have to do it all year around.
We hope to divide one room into a boys and girls bathroom, which will have toilets and showers. If there is the time, we would also like to provide two toilets for the teachers in smaller rooms across the hallway. The rooms are located on the first floor therefore add an additional challenge for the water feeds, waste and electric connections.
The school teaches approximately 200 children and following a visit at Christmas we can tell you that this is a poor village, therefore we would like to help them and provide not only toilets but maybe improve their school too. We can do this by painting classrooms and hopefully providing aid to the village as well as supplies to the school (for the childrens education) and for the staff in the kitchen where equipment is sparse!

We are looking for volunteers to join us from 9th to 24th August, and if you would like further information about the trip and about volunteering please click here.
The following shows the location of the village in Moldova. Balanesti is the highest point in the country!
flowers of tileagd
The Flowers of Tileagd are a project in Romania (in the village of Tileagd) of women who use their skills to craft bags, mobile cases, glasses cases, cushions covers and many other items.
TEECH have supported them for many years by taking material from England to Romania and finished products back again for them to sell and raise money for the ladies. We have set up a page on our website to show some of the products which are for sale and invite you to buy items. Please click here to read more about the project, view the products and know how to get in touch with the ladies running the project.
