bathroom projects trip to moldova
zaluceni and Iliciovca
TEECH Volunteers travelled on a 4,000 mile round trip to Moldova, to create bathrooms in two village schools, the villages of Zaluceni (on the border with Transnistria) and Iliciovca,
The team started in Zaluceni, which are the first set of photos below, and then moved to Iliciovca for the second half of the trip (second set of photos below). The pictures show the bathrooms being created, village life, along with food deliveries and the free clothes shop for the locals.
The weather and temperature was more unusual this year, with some days at 34 degrees, and others much lower at 25 degrees. Most nights were much cooler than volunteers had experienced in the summer months before.

The photos below show the school and project at Iliciovca. The outside toilets were in a much worst condition in this village, therefore the indoor bathrooms were even more important. The 4th photo shows the classroom before work started on the transformation. The floor was replaced before the team arrived, then volunteers painted and made a start on new lighting. All the plumbing, electrics and cubicle installation was achieved in 4 days.
