october 2024 NEWS
With only 3 months to go until volunteers travel back to Moldova, TEECH are hoping to cover the cost with sponsorship of the 44 tonne lorry, to travel with 20 pallets of hand sanitiser.
As reported in last month newsletter, the Ministry of Health in Moldova, now requires all schools to supply their teachers and pupils with hand sanitiser for use on a daily basis.
Use of sanitiser in the schools will help keep pupils healthier and prevent the spread of infections, which is seen as an efficient solution to stop the spread of bacteria and viruses. Providing schools with hand sanitiser contributes to increase the sanitary facilities of the schools.
Despite introducing this new rule to the Directors of each school, no additional budget is provided by the government to fund the sanitiser. Whilst the team of volunteers where at the school in Bursuceni during the August 2024 project trip, we heard directly from the Director, Ala, who explained the school only had a £200 budget for hygiene supplies for the full school year, which was not enough to cover toilet paper, soap, cleaning supplies etc anyway, so being able to buy hand sanitiser was going to be very difficult.
TEECH will provide 20 pallets of sanitiser to 20 or more schools and institutions during the Christmas 2024 trip and is looking for individuals and/or companies to sponsor a pallet. The sponsorship is £200 per pallet which will be used by TEECH to fund the transport of the aid, which covers the ferry, road tolls, customs paperwork, diesel, ad blue etc for the artic.
Thanks goes to Rentokil for the donation of the sanitiser.
If you would like to donate and get your name on a hand, either to fund a whole pallet or part of a pallet then please click on the TEECH Christmas 2024 link below. Thank you to all those who have donated so far.

shoebox appeal
If you would like to support the shoebox appeal, then please get in touch. The plan is to visit a minimum of 7 villages with shoebox gifts and food parcels this year, hand delivering items to those who require a little support during the cold winter months.
We have lists of the children at the schools the team will visit, so to try and ensure we have the right gender and ages, please get in touch so we can allocate you ages.
