the summer project
As mentioned in the February newsletter, the team of volunteers are off to the village of Sturzeni, Moldova in August (as marked on the map).
The charity would like to thank to John McPherson for producing the layout plans for the bathrooms. The team are now sourcing plumbing, electrical and all other supplies for the project trip.
The aim is to convert one room in the school into two, so that there will be a bathroom for the boys and one for the girls. In the boys bathroom the volunteers will install 2 toilets, 3 urinals and 4 basins. In the girls there will be 5 toilets, 4 basins, with both rooms also having hand driers, tiled splash backs and new lino flooring.
The room at the moment is in a poor state of repair, therefore there are many tasks for the school to undertake before volunteers arrive. We will be working with the school over the next 3 months to ensure the community is working together to replace windows and block up doorways.

The team are looking for good quality clothing to take to Moldova and would like further donation of children's clothing if possible. If you have items to donate then please ensure they are sent through to us by the beginning of June at the latest, to give us time to sort and box them.
