volunteers and this summers project
With volunteers now signed up, they are working hard to raise funds for the trip. At least one volunteer is holding a quiz night (poster below) if anyone is interested in challenging themselves for the evening!
TEECH Sweden is now in full swing, driven by Jonathan, a volunteer for a number of years on TEECH projects. He discovered the charity whilst living in England but is now back in Sweden. After roping in help from two other Swedish volunteers, family and friends, strong fund raising is underway and a load of aid will travel from Sweden to Moldova this summer joining up with the rest of the England volunteers to carry out the project in Sturzeni.
WATER IN MOLDOVA
As you will know, the charity works in villages where sometimes they are not on mains water. We were recently provided with a map of Moldova (above) which shows the disparity between the larger towns and the villages and those with access to cold water systems. The darker red of the map shows those who have water on tap and the paler colour is those in villages and using well water. In August the team are travelling to the Riscani region (third region from top left of the map) where the access to water is better than in other parts, but still not 100%.
TEECH tries to install toilets into schools where there is a good water supply, otherwise the toilets can be cut off from water and then start to smell. Thank you to Rebecca Lehman of the US Peace Corp for providing the information and highlighting the extent of the problem.

boxes and packing tape
As we receive clothing and other donations we sort and box everything before it can be transported to Romania and Moldova. To ensure the loading of vehicles is efficient and uses space to its maximum we require good quality (not too big) cardboard boxes and of course decent packing tape (which actually sticks!). If anyone knows of a source of boxes then please get in touch. Thanks
