summer project 2015
The 2015 project for TEECH, will be in Moldova once again and this time at a school in the small village of Grozesti in the west of the country. TEECH have visited the school and village a couple of times on Christmas trips and have come to know Carol Stadden an American lady volunteering with the US Peace Corp.
The school teaches approximately 250 children but has no mains water and only outside toilets. The village is due to be connected to mains water in 2016 but in the mean time we can get water pumped from a well and use this for the bathrooms we will create for the boys and girls.

A visit to the long drop outside toilets in January was not only cold and snowy but very slippery due to the tiled floor!
The team will transform rooms within the school into bathrooms, providing hot and cold running water, showers, toilets, sinks and urinals, along with hand driers, tiling and decoration. Currently the room identified for the boys bathroom has old soviet toilets and a wall needs to come down, therefore there is quite alot of preparation work for the school to tackle before the volunteers arrive on site in August. The preparation work will allow the school time to take ownership of the project and see what is possible, once they have the charities support to carry out the project.
If you are able to help spread the word about the project, please use our downloadable poster as a form of advertising.

wish list
We have had a few requests for assistance this year from Romania and Moldova, therefore we are looking for the following:
If you can help and would like to transport any smaller items through BT Transport (like we do at Christmas time with the shoeboxes) then we can advise on your local drop point ([email protected])
- Good quality clothing for children and adults.
- Books for a new library being created in Grozesti (the project village) - books in English, French, Romanian or Russian to help stock the library. Please do not send lots of English novels as we do not want to be inundated with books, but if you can find educational books this would be appreciated.
- Shelving for the library.
- Any bean bags which you can sit on (or similar) for the children to use in the library, which will also be a community centre (more on this in next months newsletter)
- Washing machine for the Kindergarden where we worked in 2014.
- Beds for a new home being set up by Ora International, the charity which supports TEECH on every trip with customs and paperwork for Moldova.
- Bed side tables for the home for older ladies in Risipeni
